NISSAN TITAN NAMED ‘NORTH AMERICAN TRUCK OF THE YEAR’ FINALIST
For the second straight year, a Nissan truck has been named as a finalist for the North American Truck of the Year award. Following in the footsteps of the TITAN XD, a revolutionary truck that helped to straddle the gap between light-duty pick-up trucks and heavy-duty work trucks, the reinvigorated TITAN line-up returned for the 2017 model year. Featuring new engines, a wide variety of cab style, and a brand new design, the 2017 Nissan TITAN is catching everyone’s eyes.
It’s not surprising the TITAN has risen to the top. While all the other truck companies were busy taking potshots at each other over what they were using in their beds, Nissan was busy creating an entirely new package. The 2017 TITAN has a number of features and options that are helping it to stand out from the pack, and that should make the voters choice even easier, including:
Choose from Crew Cab, with seating for five, or Single Cab, with seating for up to three depending on the trim selected. A King Cab version will be coming in late 2017.
Brand new Endurance V8 engine, providing 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque. This means enough guts to tow up to 9,390 pounds or haul up to 1,610 pounds of gear in Crew Cab form, or tow up to 9,730 pounds and haul up to 1,940 pounds of payload in Single Cab guise.
Choice of two- or four-wheel drive.
Five different grade levels, ranging from the worksite-friendly S to the luxurious Platinum Reserve.
New exterior design language, offering a taller, more masculine look, as well cosmetic options including numerous wheel types, trim highlights, and more.
PRO-4X off-road package, providing some of the most capable off-road performance of any factory truck.
Options and features aimed at making the TITAN the perfect vehicle for the working man – features including bedliners, bed lighting, the Utili-track multi-channel cargo system, an in-bed power outlet, and Trailer Light Check system that allows you to check all brake light connections with the Nissan Intelligent Key.
Upcoming availability of a smaller, more fuel-efficient V6 engine that will still offer the versatility you expect from a pickup truck.
All of this is backed by Nissan’s “America’s Best Truck Warranty,” a 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty with basic and powertrain coverage. Merge all that with Nissan’s value-minded pricing, and you have a truck that provides some of the best bang for its buck of any vehicle on the market today.
The North American Truck of the Year award, now in its 24th year, is awarded every January at the North American International Auto Show. Recognizing the most outstanding new truck or utility vehicle of the year, the finalists are judged on a variety of factors, ranging from innovation to value, safety to driver satisfaction. What makes these awards so sought after is that, unlike many awards that are handed out by a single publication or media outlet, they are awarded by an independent group of automotive journalists from across the United States and Canada. Spanning television, radio, newspaper, magazines, and web sites, this means they draw from an unmatched range of experts.
Here at Conyers Nissan in Conyers, Georgia, we know that trucks of all sorts are a big deal in the Atlanta region. Nissan knows it too, which is why we hope that you’ll join us in 2017’s “Nissan Year of the Truck.” In addition to the award winning TITAN, which recently brought home the 2017 “Full-size Truck of Texas” honors, refreshed Nissan nameplates include the Rogue and Pathfinder. With a truck for everyone, come see why Nissan trucks are the right fit for your new vehicle needs.
